Overview & Eligibility
The Child Student route is for applicants aged 4 to 17 who want to study at an independent school that is a Student sponsor. The child needs an unconditional offer, suitable living arrangements and parental/legal-guardian consent. A 16 or 17 year old studying an eligible higher-level course may have a choice between the Student and Child Student routes.

- Age 4 to 17 at the relevant point under the route
- Unconditional offer from an independent school licensed to sponsor Child Students
- Suitable accommodation/living arrangements in the UK
- Enough funds for course fees and applicable living costs
- Parental or legal-guardian consent
- Meets the Child Student route conditions and suitability requirements
Documents You May Need
- Valid passport
- CAS from the independent school
- Parental/legal-guardian consent
- Birth certificate or evidence of relationship
- Evidence of course and boarding/accommodation fees
- Financial evidence as applicable to the living arrangement
- TB certificate where required
