Overview & Eligibility
The Standard Visitor route is used for tourism, visiting family and friends, certain business activities and other permitted short-term purposes. A visitor must be a genuine visitor, must leave the UK at the end of the visit, must not use visits to live in the UK for extended periods, and must have enough funds for the trip without working or accessing public funds.
Important: UKVI assesses the whole picture. Your purpose, finances, employment/business position, family circumstances, travel history and supporting evidence should tell a consistent story.
