Family-route applications for children depend on the child’s relationship with the parent, the parent’s UK status and the specific Family Rules that apply. Children already on a qualifying family route may have different extension requirements from children making a first application.

• Qualifying relationship to the parent in the UK
• Parent has the required UK immigration status
• Child meets the age and dependency conditions applicable to the route
• Child does not normally live an independent life where that condition applies
• Required financial, accommodation and suitability evidence for the specific route
